Numerical investigation on performance improvement of CaSO<sub>4</sub> solar chemical heat pump

Human demand for energy has reached unprecedented levels. A high-efficiency chemical heat pump (CHP) that uses solar thermal as source called SCHP system been studied decades in our laboratory. The (SCHP) using CaSO4∙1/2H2O/CaSO4 can store the form of and release it hot cold heat. This study presents a simplified three-dimensional unsteady model reactant bed releasing step system. is programmed by finite difference method enabled operation Microsoft Excel on personal computer instead other complex programming languages workstations etc. Even simulate heat/mass transfer under different evaporator temperatures. simulation results temperature distribution overall hydration conversion are good agreement with experimental results.
